Periyar is popularly known as Thekkady, famous for its rich wildlife and sprawling spice gardens.  Enjoy scenic drive from Munnar to Periyar, enroute cross tea gardens, dense woods spice and rubber plantations.

Begin your day with 02Hrs Boat ride on the Periyar Lake. A herd of elephants or a wandering family of deer is common sights near the lake. In March and April, visitors stand a better chance of viewing wildlife as the animals come to the lake frequently for drinking water. You may be able to spot herds of Gaur, Sambar and wild boars in the grasslands adjacent to the shores. Variety of Birds such as darters, egrets and kingfishers can be seen resting on dead tree trunks that stick out over the lake.

Kumarakom is popular tourist backwater hub is a cluster of islands on the eastern banks of Lake Vembanad. With the huge lake on one side and with a network of calm canals running through it, Kumarakom, a masterpiece created by man and Nature together.
